To promote the philately in the public Rawalpindi Islamabad Philatelic Association organized National Stamp Exhibition "Islamabad-2017" at The Centaurus Mall, Islamabad on May 12-14, 2017. This exhibition was divided on three floors of the shopping mall. Philatelists from all over the country came here as participants in different categories of the entry. The official inauguration was held on the first day of the event by Sardar Yasir Ilyas Khan (Owner of Centaurus) with the senior philatelists at 12:00 noon. The chief guest show his keen interest in the exhibition and personally visited the exhibits at ground floor. He wrote his view in the guest book. On this occasion, Pakistan Post issued eight different commemorative envelopes for inland usage of birds thematic with the logo of the event. Pakistan Post also issued three post marks which were issued day by day on all days of the occasion. Mian Sajid Ali - Chairman, Allama Iqbal Stamps Society displayed his philatelic collection on National Poet in 8 frames (128 pages). This is the biggest philatelic collection on Allama Iqbal in the world. On the last day of the event this exhibit got Large Vermeil Medal.
