5th Allama Iqbal Stamp Show - 2012

On the occasion of 135th Birth Anniversary of Allama Muhammad Iqbal, Poet of the East, on November 09, 2012, Allama Iqbal Stamps Society organized 5th Allama Iqbal Stamp Show – 2012 held at Allama Iqbal’s Tomb, Lahore. The stamp show started just after the change of the guards at Mazar-e-Iqbal.  The opening of the stamp show was done by Dr. Shahzad Qaiser (Vice President - Iqbal Academy Pakistan) with Mr. Suheyl Umar (Director – Iqbal Academy Pakistan). After the opening ceremony, the Governor of the Punjab, Sardar Latif Khosa visited the exhibition. Many delegations and personalities visited the stamp show on the whole day. The names included Sardar Latif Khosa (Governor of the Punjab), Dr. Shahzad Qaiser (Vice President – Iqbal Academy Pakistan), Mr. Suheyl Umar (Director – Iqbal Academy Pakistan), Mian Yousaf Salahuddin (Grandson of Allama Iqbal), Justice ( R ) Manzoor Hussain Syal (President – Anjuman Himayat-e-Islam), Prof. Dr. Rafiq Ahmad (Deputy Chairman – Nazaria Pakistan Trust), Syed Kabir Ali Shah Gillani (Religious Scholar), Muhammad Pervaiz Malik (President – Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz Group, Lahore), Khawaja Imran Nazir (Program Incharge – Punjab Youth Festival), Abdul Aleem Khan (Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf), Sardar Gayani Ranjeet Singh Garanthi (Gurdwara Dera Sahib, Lahore) and more.  The exhibition was ended with the Azan of Maghrib. The philatelic and other collectible items of Mian Sajid Ali (Founder of Allama Iqbal Stamps Society) on Allama Iqbal displayed at the event. First time Allama Iqbal Stamps Society displayed the letters of Allama Iqbal’s own handwriting in one frame. A huge number of all kinds of people visited the stamp show. PTV News and Samaa TV telecast the short documentaries on Mian Sajid Ali’s collection on Iqbal Day. Allama Iqbal Stamps Society issued a commemorative cover and post mark for the 5th Allama Iqbal Stamp Show - 2012.
