The 1st Allama Iqbal Stamp Show – 2009 held on Iqbal Day, November 09, 2009 at Allama Iqbal’s tomb near historical Badshahi Mosque, Lahore. This type of Stamp Show was the first ever which was held there. Stamps, Postal Covers, First Day Covers, Iqbal Memorial Fund Stamps, Leaflets, Post Marks, Coins and Currency Notes on Allama Iqbal and related to him displayed here. 4 frames displayed there. Many famous personalities and crowd came to see the exhibit including Muhammad Suheyl Umar (Director – Iqbal Academy Pakistan), Munib Iqbal (Grandson of Allama Iqbal, son of Javed Iqbal) Majeed Nizami (Chief Editor – Nawa-i-Waqt), Prof. Rafiq Ahmed (Nazaria Pakistan Trust), Mian Yousuf Salah-ud-Din (Grandson of Allama Iqbal, son of Munira Begum), Sajjad Ahmed Bhutta (DCO – Lahore), G.M.Malik (Registrar – Minhaj University), delegations of P.I.A. Boy Scouts, Minhaj-ul-Quran and Nazaria Pakistan Foundation. Many philatelists came to see the Allama Iqbal Stamp Show – 2009 including Jamil Ahmed (Secretary – Pakistan Philatelic Association), Wahid Zia (Pak Net Mag), Sheikh Ehsan, Azhar Iqbal, Naeem Farook, Syed Saif-ul-Hassan, Zubair Ahmed Janjua, Syed Saeed Hassan Zaidi. Waqt News made a documentary on the stamp show which was broadcast on Waqt News on November 15, 2009 in the programme “Assignment” recorded by Mr.Waqar Ahmed Qureshi (Asst. Producer).
